Isn’t this wedding so to die for?! I loved Missy’s eclectic and modern style. The reception was held at her parents estate in St. George, where they had a cocktail hour held poolside. The party was then moved to a lavish clear tent that was placed over the family tennis court. Missy’s sister, Maggie Glendenning, was in charge of all the wedding planning, including the modern decor of rose gold accents, clear acrylic chairs and signs, and a hot pink neon sign above the Sweetheart Table reading “Just Love Me”.
Everyone knows that Las Vegas is the wedding capitol of the world, but along with weddings also comes elopements! For this editorial shoot I teamed up with Victoria Hogan, from Flora Pop. Flora Pop is more than just a florist or event stylist. They are the first traveling pop-up wedding company in the U.S.! What that means is that they can host your ceremony anywhere in the U.S. and provide all of the planning, florals, styling, and even an officiant and champagne. They are pretty much the coolest if having a big wedding isn’t your thing.
For this shoot, we kept it really simple with a Zhivago dress from Revolve, and soft and minimal makeup by Leila from Sin City Hair and Makeup. The delicate and petite bouquet was made exclusively from Hellebores, draped with ribbon from Adorn Company. The table was designed by Victoria, using her signature Veuve Clicquot Brut Champagne that she provides for all of her couples, along with dreamy blue and white plates from Anthropologie, and a simple wedding cake from Public Us – a local coffee shop located off of Freemont Street in downtown Las Vegas.
I’ve always heard that the Dominican Republic was absolutely beautiful, but I really had to see it for myself to truly believe it! Lucky for me, my friend Mary Claire asked me to come shoot along side of her. It’s safe to say I would have said yes 100x and now I am already planning for the day I can go back.
And bonus, this couple was a dream to work with! They were so generous and sweet, and since I’m almost a year late at blogging this, they are about to celebrate their one year anniversary and just welcomed a new baby girl!
This…..now THIS shoot had me walking away feeling SO alive! I remember getting off the boat and driving back home to our AirBNB and thinking how lucky I am to have just experienced something so incredible. Out of all the shoots that Donny had prepared for us, this was the one that had me the most excited, and it lived up to all of it’s expectations! The boat (or should I say yacht…?) left Waikiki just before sunset, and all of us got to experience fun waves filled with surfers and whales, and even got our own private concert by thee cutest couple.
This was also one of my favorite shoots because of how lifestyle it was. One of my most favorite things to capture is a couple just being in their element. I love when they are just doing their own thing, with very little to no direction, and just sitting back and watching the magic happen.
I’ll treasure this experience forever and always remember that feeling I had when it was all said and done.
